Welcome to the website for the
Nootka Fine Arts Program.

We are a district fine arts program located within the public Nootka Elementary School in Vancouver, British Columbia. Nootka Elementary School houses three programs: the regular program, the Fine Arts Program and the Extended Learning Assistance Centre.

Children in the Fine Arts Program spend about 30 percent of the school week in drama, dance, music and visual art classes; the teachers also incorporate the fine arts into their other classroom instruction. Started in the 2002-03 school year, the Fine Arts Program originally offered one fine arts class per grade in Kindergarten through Grade 3.

In 2005/2006 the program includes a Grade 6 class.  In subsequent school years, the Nootka Fine Arts Program will add one grade per year until the program is Kindergarten to Grade 7 with the intention it will ultimately expand to become a K - Grade 12 program.
